Empowering Citizens for Change

We are the Lane County branch of a new political party dedicated to breaking the two-party duopoly and promoting initiatives that truly represent the interests of the people.

We are the Lane County arm of the We the People Party and we need your help.

We believe in government of, by and for the people, but our voices are not being heard.

We plan to run candidates for the most important local offices: Mayor, Lane County Commissioners, City Council, and Judges, candidates committed to representing us.

E-web said it imposed its EMF generating smart meters to improve efficiency, but prices didn’t drop. Instead, it is preparing us for price increases. How have things improved since the smart meters were installed? We haven’t noticed improvements.

The site of the new city hall became a parking lot for years. “Lane County has one of the highest per-capita rates of homelessness in the nation, with about 80% of our unhoused population living unsheltered (compared to 35% nationally).”[1] Though e-web is said to be owned by us, industrial customers pay less than half as much as we do for electricity. Judges seem to favor landlords over tenants and corporations over people.

And yet in every election most candidates run unopposed; and, where there is a competition, reliable information about the candidates is often hard to come by.

We need help in gathering and sharing information about the operation of each branch of local government and the record and history of each serving official and to field candidates to run for all important offices.

Our Summary Page, Platform and What We Believe and Why Section will amplify and clarify our vision.
