We have created a new party because we believe that we should have a government of, by, and for the people and that it should respect our basic human rights.

Unfortunately, over the past fifty years our government has been captured by large corporations. As a result, no matter how we vote, we have a government of, by, and for itself and its corporations.

These days food, shelter, health, education, work and privacy are not only not guaranteed; more and more people are going without these basic necessities, in part because the neoliberal consensus is that they aren’t rights. That neoliberal economic consensus has dominated both parties for decades and has been responsible for the growth of inequality, insecurity, homelessness, and a decrease in life expectancy among other deprivations.

We believe that electing candidates who do not take money from and are not beholden to corporations or the rich, candidates committed to the people’s rights and sovereignty, can correct the imbalance that is devastating our country.

Our Summary Page, Platform and What We Believe and Why Section will amplify and clarify our vision.

Three envelopes and a voting ballot are arranged on a flat surface. The largest envelope is brown with a text reading 'Elecciones Voto por Correo' and a stamp indicating it is urgent. On top of it, there are two smaller envelopes, one white labeled 'Diputados/as' and one beige labeled 'Senadores/as'. The voting ballot is partially visible beneath the envelopes, providing options for different political parties.

Joining We the People Party has empowered me to advocate for real change locally.

A large crowd of people gathered at night in front of a historic building, with many individuals holding flags and placards. The area is illuminated by streetlights, and a red tent displays the words 'Socialist Party'. Trees are visible alongside the building.
