We’re proud to announce that local members have unanimously endorsed Marc Baber as our We The People Party nominee for U.S. Congress in Oregon’s 4th District.

Marc is a lifelong Oregonian and a former Lane County volunteer from the 2024 presidential cycle.

He is running because he believes government should answer to the people—not corporations or party insiders.

His priorities reflect core We The People values:

Challenging corporate influence in government

Protecting public health and the environment

Defending civil liberties

Expanding democracy so voters have real choices

Marc plans to run a lean, ideas-focused campaign. Instead of expensive ads and political theater, he will focus on substance:

A strong Oregon Voters’ Pamphlet statement

A clear, informative website

Organic social media outreach

Long-form podcast and radio interviews where issues can be discussed in depth

He believes voters deserve real conversations—not sound bites.

Marc was born in Oregon, grew up in Salem, and graduated with honors from the University of Oregon in 1985. He spent decades working as a software engineer in supercomputing and electric utility IT before retiring in Eugene. Being retired gives him the time and independence to engage directly with voters across the district.

As always, this endorsement followed our grassroots, member-driven process. Local members in Lane County and Oregon’s 4th District reviewed Marc’s background, discussed his alignment with our values, and voted unanimously to nominate him. The decision was made locally—not handed down from the top.

Marc is committed to speaking with voters across the political spectrum. He supports reforms such as ranked choice voting so Oregonians are never forced into “lesser of two evils” choices or silenced by fear of “spoilers.”
